Loyal, Honest, Open, Positive Upbeat Approach and Sense Of Humour

Having had a beautiful holiday home on the beach at Ocean One in Barbados of over ten years, we decided we wanted to spend more time in Barbados and our apartment no longer met our requirements.

We met Daniel when we visited Chesterton in Holetown wanting them to market our apartment and help us look for our ideal new holiday home. Knowing that the property market in Barbados is a little different from the UK, we felt it could be sometime until we sold our property and therefore were a little reluctant to go full steam ahead to find a new home. Daniel took this onboard and was very realistic about pricing and we found him honest and open.

He kept us updated regularly on our return to the UK and in no time at all our apartment sold. We could now go full steam ahead and find our new home. We had a long and detailed list of requirements but Daniel was unperturbed. Three visits to the island followed, each time we met him and spent the day trawling the Barbados property market. He was very patient and listened and worked with us until we finally decided (having dragged him back several times to one or two of the properties).

The whole journey has been seamless and I don’t think we would have been able to complete this journey without Daniel’s help, his positive upbeat approach and sense of humor. I am honestly going to miss our days out when we next return to Barbados but we know we have a friend in Daniel for life and will continue to see him on our many more trips to our perfect holiday home!

Made Everything So Much Easier

Buying a property in your own country is commonly accepted as one of the most stressful and difficult undertakings. When you decide to buy a property 4,000 miles away the problems seem overwhelming and it is easy to be deterred.

We contacted Chestertons in Barbados and that made everything so much easier. We planned a viewing visit and they helped to sort out our base in Barbados. We were met on the island by Daryl Kelly and he escorted around a selected list of different types of property which had been identified partly by them and partly by our own internet research. Although we did not resolve our search on this initial visit, we did have a much better understanding of our requirements as did Chestertons. They followed on from that visit with a recommendation of a property that they suggested would be ideal and supplied photographs and videos for us to view in the UK. It looked perfect and we quickly returned to the island to view and realised they had found just the right place. They dealt with all price negotiations, keeping us informed at all times, and achieved a substantial discount on the advertised price. They arranged appointments with attorneys on the island to enable us to make our own choice of legal representation. We now own a beautiful house in Barbados.

At no time did we feel under any pressure to make commitments and the staff that helped us were always understanding and friendly. They worked constantly during our visits including weekends and no query or detail was overlooked. I would thoroughly recommend Chestertons to anyone who is looking to buy a property on the island.
